Need our help finding a horse?

We locate, visit, ride, and evaluate horses for our students and outside clients for a small fee. If you need help finding a horse to meet your needs please use the contact form and we can get started. We can coordinate PPEs and shipping as well if desired.
Our starting fee for these services is $300.

The horses listed below are currently for sale. Prices are non-negotiable and we ask for a Veterinary contact for any horses labelled *Rescue*. Our horses are sold with a buyback contract so that should financial or other distress befall you, they are always welcome back here at RH Farm. Rescues are sold with a “no auction” clause to prevent them from re-entering the auction/slaughter pipeline.
ALL horses are up-to-date on their Coggins, vaccines and farrier work.

Ginger // $2000

// 20 y/o mare
// Quarter Horse (unregistered)
// 14.3hh
//Advanced Beginner Rider

Ginger was purchased through our client services for an older lady, however she didn’t get along with another pasture mate that came later. We have been using her in kids lessons while she is with us, and she does well.

We are recommending Ginger to a trail riding home as that is where she seems happiest. She can be lazy in the arena, or anxious, but on trails she is her calmest self – happy to plod along and explore on her own or with another horse.

She loads well, stands great for vet and farrier.

Napoleon // PENDING

// 7 y/o Gelding
// Miniature horse (unregistered)
// 7hh or 32 inches
// Companion Only, Pasture Pet

*RESCUE* Napoleon was pulled out of a backyard pen with only a cargo trailer for shelter. He was a stud when we rescued him, and has healed up from his gelding beautifully. However, he does tend to rear when in confrontation with dominant horses and gets very attached to mares.

Napoleon is only suitable for a Companion or Pasture Pet home because he has severe locking patellar disfunction in both his back legs. He gets around alright but does hitch his step at the walk. He will happily trot and canter the pasture once he gets going though!

He LOVES to give nose kisses. We keep him muzzled in the grass season to prevent founder.
Easy loader, stands for vet and farrier reasonably well though can be a little wiggly.

Tucker // $2500

//19 y/o Gelding
// QH x TWH non gaited (unregistered)
// 15.2hh
// Early Intermediate Rider

*RESCUE* Tucker is a true blue trail horse. We used him in lessons for a full year but he began displaying frustration with inconsistent cues and unsteady hands from beginner riders, so was retired to trails.

He is absolutely gun-safe, road-safe, a brave and calm horse to be a trail partner for someone wanting to explore on horseback!

Tucker would thrive in a home with a family or a confident trail rider. He is happily doted on by children and very safe on the ground and with leadline rides. However, when ridden he needs a consistent hand from an experienced rider as he can easily tell when a rider is new and will let him get away with little tricks. He also tends to be cold backed in the winter, so needs good warmup time to get his muscles loosened before galloping off! (If you don’t warm him up, he’ll throw what we call a “booty pop”. Not quite a buck, and easily ridden by good-seated riders but we don’t want to see him cause a new rider to lose confidence.)

Loads easily, stands well for vet and farrier.
