JAN 2024// Ace is back in training and full of energy!
He is safe, but not quite for a beginner as he’s still learning to listen to direction. WTC, very comfortable to ride – has perfect footfall. Has been through our trails and enjoyed it. Sweet sweet horse, comes right up to greet you.
What Ace does not enjoy is a bit. You can shove one in after a little struggle but he’s not a happy camper. Stands for vet and farrier, loads no problem. UTD on everything.
Update: Ace did a few lessons and has been on rest as his back seemed to be hurting him. He has had chiropractic treatment and saddle fit evaluation, and we think he just might be cold-backed in the winter.
Update: Ace participated in Summer Camp and did great! Doing well at hand-led rides.
Update: Ace has received surgery for the cancer in his eye and is recovering well. With the vet’s OK we have started back with undersaddle work. He is a bit of a lazy guy and the steering is about nonexistant so working on that to start!
Update: Ace has a suspicious bump in his left eye which we suspect is “cancer eye”. He now stands for the farrier without issue and is even learning how to be hotshod!
Ace is a beautiful paint, surrendered by his owner for a few handling issues. He is chunky, 16hh and so striking! We’re excited to work on his training issues and find him a home.
